Interested in finding the real you? You have come to the right place!

But first, a TON of new content has been added to the site for your enjoyment! Read more about what has been added at the end of this post. #GetAfterIT

It has been months since the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 began. To many it has already felt like years. I want you to know that this is a totally natural reaction. Trust me, I have been feeling the same way! It has gotten so bad for me that I struggle to recall what day of the week it is. However, with all of the bad that has been happening throughout this period of time, there are always positive takeaways.

The time that we have all been spending quarantined at home has been unprecedented, especially in an age where everyone is supposed to be embracing the hustle of life. No longer are the days where people are shopping, driving to their jobs, and eating in at restaurants. We have instead been given unexpected time at home. We have been gifted extra time to spend with family and an insane amount of free time that can be used productively. All you have to do is look for it and use it.

One of my favorite quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche states, “He who has a why can bear any how.” With all of the extra time we have, this is the perfect opportunity for you to find that why. Go into your bookshelf and read. Start partaking in hobbies that you have been interested in but keep pushing off. Dive into yourself and find out who you really are. Nobody said this would be easy and nobody was even prepared for this situation, so don't get discouraged when you do not see immediate results. One small step at a time will lead to big changes in the future. If it was easy, the ending results wouldn't be as enjoyable. Just this past week, I dove back into my baseball card collection, picked up the piano again, and have spent so much time outdoors. I realized that these are the kind of activities that I enjoy, and I am determined to continue this with or without a pandemic looming over my head.

We will all have our ups and downs (even though we all are experiencing a down right now) but why not make those downs into something useful. Learn from it, fix those mistakes and try your best to enjoy whatever life might throw at you. Remember, if you are questioning going after something that you feel could be an important step in your life, JUST DO IT! You are in charge of your own life, so why not go out there and make the best of it.

Site Updates

Like I said previously, there have been a ton of additions to the website. Check out all of the new quotes that have been added, pictures that have been snapped, and songs that have been jammed to. More than 20 interesting articles have been added to the archive page that are worth the read. Who knows, you might learn something 🤷‍♂️. After discussions with loyal readers, a new section called Favorite Podcasts has been added! Over the last few years, I have learned a ton of information from podcasts. Listening to a podcast while completing mindless work can really make a difference. The possibility of starting my own podcast has been introduced as well. If you have ideas for what to include, talk about or even who to interview let me know.

Thanks for reading, and until next time ... This is the Tim Phillips Experience.

This post is an update regarding the newly added sections, pages, and content as well as an introduction to one of my favorite pieces of advice. I am sure that this post will keep you entertained and provide you with something to do with the extra free time we have been provided thanks to the COVID pandemic. Although unexpected, this time at home is valuable and can be taken advantage of. All you have to do is get started.

How to Get Started?

That leads me into one of the most important pieces of advice that I can give. Just Do It! You may have heard this saying in Nike commercials or in passing as you were talking with some of your friends. This message means a lot more to me, and can mean even more to you as well.

One of the greatest principles that I follow in life is regretting nothing. I strive to do everything I can with the amount of time that I am given on this Earth. I want you to do the same. It is so easy too! The only thing you need to do; Just Do It. Instead of overthinking an issue or questioning whether you want to take a leap forward in your career, just go out and tackle that issue or ask that question. Afraid of talking to that person you are interested in? Just Do it. Don't know if you can get that project you have been working on completed? Just go do it. By taking this mental approach, you are giving yourself an opportunity to accomplish what you really want by removing the doubt that commonly creeps into the back of everyone's mind. This doubt has prevented so many people from achieving their dreams or doing something they have always wanted to do.

Don't make this mistake anymore! It comes down to you and how you want to live your life. I know I don't want to regret missing out on an opportunity or spending valuable time with my friends. Life is how you make it, and it can be so much better if you put yourself out of your comfort zone. This mindset has created so many more opportunities for me in the past few years and I am glad to have learned it. I want you to have this opportunity as well. Go out there. Just Do It, and get rid of those regrets.

One of these opportunities occurred when I decided to start meditation. I am glad that I did because it has been life changing. Throughout this journey, I have come across different kinds of meditation that have constantly changed my perspective. A new addition to the meditation page is a brand new meditation that I have found. Through the recommendation of one of my friends, I was sent a link that involved doing a 30 minute meditation about you and your future self. I don't want to spoil the experience for you but I can say that it was extremely eye opening. To get the link and more information about meditation check out the meditation page on my website.

Another passion of mine throughout the past few years has been self-improvement. At times I have lacked motivation to improve and have lost the drive to keep going. What really snaps me back into the self-improvement mode are motivational videos. That is why I have decided to add a motivational video section that is now included in The TP Club; Tim's Favorite Videos. Dive into some of these videos and get the motivation to accomplish what you have been dreading to do.

Don't forget to go check out the newly added comedy page, along with some videos that will be sure to boost your mood. Who doesn't like to laugh??

I hope you enjoyed this installment of the Tim Phillips Experience. I want to provide a spark for each and every one of you that will start you on your journey to wherever you want to go. As always send me your ideas, take on the day, and JUST DO IT!

Best Regards,

Tim Phillips

Hello and THANK YOU for beginning your journey with the Tim Phillips Experience. If your goal is self-improvement or you just want a virtual location for entertainment and learning, you have come to the right spot!

Background of the TPE

Over the past couple of years, I have spent hours documenting the information I have learned from books, podcasts, videos and discussions. This undertaking began at the age of 15 after dealing with memory loss and months of rehab as a result of a life changing concussion during my freshman football season. Immediately after this traumatic event, I became afraid of forgetting the memories and learnings that I had gathered up to that point. It became glaringly obvious to me that I needed a way to remove the possibility of forgetting. That is when I began to write everything down.

Reflecting on that entire situation, I have come to realize just how valuable it was for my personal growth. Not only did it test my resilience and ability to endure hardship, it facilitated the attitude and skills necessary for documenting my experiences and learnings. Nowadays, my main obsession has become learning and spreading as much knowledge as I can gather. The goal and purpose: To share the knowledge and sources of information that have dramatically improved my life in order to positively affect as many other lives as possible.

Since that fateful day, my memory has returned and I have continued this record keeping practice. I religiously use the notes app on my phone whenever I find a valuable piece of information that impacts my life. Once I finish a movie, book, or show, I write down the title. I even take pictures during every vacation and special moment of my life so that I can look back on that moment in time.

This may seem strange and weird to some. Trust me I get it! I am here to tell you that from experience and practice, these techniques have provided me with unforeseen comfort and enjoyment. I am able to say with certainty that I never will forget these experiences and can look back on it all with perfect clarity.

In a full circle kind of way, everything that I have been doing since my concussion has culminated in a bank of valuable information. I find it important and necessary to spread what I have learned to as many people as I can so that others can learn from my successes and failures. With this information, I hope to provide a reliable source that people can use for their own benefit.

Personality of the TPE

Because I am in fact human, I also want to share on this site some of the hobbies that I enjoy. From collecting sports memorabilia to taking photos and playing the piano, I hope to be an inspiration to partake in whatever it is that brings you enjoyment and happiness. Take the road less traveled and do what makes you feel special. You are the only one in charge of your life so grab the reigns and direct it the way you want.

Through this blog, I also hope that by sharing my passions I am able to learn even more from you. If there are ever any issues with the site, or something interesting you want to tell me, go for it. A new song, a new fact? Throw it my way. Who knows whose life it could change.

In closing, I hope that this blog meets you at a time when you can use it to your advantage. I know I am excited to start this journey and I hope to make a difference. Good luck and remember, JUST DO IT!

Best Regards,

Tim Phillips
